One founder. One promise. No account managers.
ByteKraft is a sole proprietorship from Bocholt. Founded to close the gap between large consultancies and individual freelancers. No growth pressure, no sales machine, no expiration date after six months.
Software that runs for years.
We build software for small and mid-size businesses that they actually use. Not buy and shelve, not look at and forget, but use daily. The measure of quality is not the pitch moment; it is the third year in production.
What we build has limits because we are a small team. But within those limits, we do good work. We regularly turn down projects that are too large, too distant, or too vague. That is better for everyone involved.
Yevhen Ptushko, founder and developer.
I have been in software development since 2012, and have spent recent years working with mid-sized clients between Bocholt, Frankfurt, and Paris. My technical focus is TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, and automation. My interest is in clean architectures that remain understandable three years later.
Projects run directly with me. I am the person at the kickoff, the person in the technical conversation, the person on monitoring duty, the person who fixes the bug. This is not a style statement; it is the result of a deliberate choice. Growth brings margin, but it also brings handoffs. We chose the opposite.
Plan slowly, ship quickly, support long.
The start of a project is long with us. We read code, listen, read again, write a concept, discuss, write again. We earn that time back later because we do not have to rebuild three times.
Development is then fast. Two- to four-week increments, each live and usable. You test with real data, we respond to feedback, scope stays traceable. If scope changes, we discuss it openly, not via change-request theater.
After go-live, operations stay with us as long as you want. Our business model is not to push you off and come back for the next project. The opposite is true: most of our clients have worked with us for years, and that is no accident.
Bocholt. Frankfurt. Nuremberg. All in Germany.
We are based in Bocholt on the Lower Rhine, half an hour from the Dutch border. Clients come from across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, sometimes France, Spain, or the Netherlands. In-person meetings are possible, but most work happens via video, and that works well.
Infrastructure runs at Hetzner Online in Frankfurt am Main and Nuremberg. Both sites are ISO 27001 certified, run on green-power supply, and sit inside the EU. Data we process does not leave the European legal area, unless you explicitly want it to.
Transparency, even when it is uncomfortable.
We tell you openly when a project is not a fit, when an off-the-shelf product would be cheaper than custom development, or when a market option is currently better than what we can deliver. That sometimes costs us business, and we accept that.
We do not work for advertising agencies as a subcontractor. We do not build gambling platforms, surveillance technology, or software that disadvantages people. That is a personal limit, not a marketing stance.
You retain the right at any moment to take the system over yourself or to bring in a different vendor. That is set down in the contract and reflected in how we build.
